Website booking
Your website books into the same diary as your phone
Phone Call Desk keeps one diary for your business. The assistant books into it on the telephone. Now your website can book into it too — a form that offers the same free times, checks each one again at the moment of booking, and never gives a visitor a time a caller has just taken.

How it works
One diary, two ways in
Whichever way a booking arrives, it lands in the same place and takes the same time out of what everyone else is offered.
One diary
Your opening hours, appointment length and how far ahead people may book are set once, on the Assistant page. The phone and the website read the same settings, so they cannot disagree.
Any website: two lines
Paste a short snippet where the form should appear. It is plain JavaScript with no dependencies, so it sits beside whatever your page already loads and writes nothing outside the box you give it.
WordPress: the plugin
Our TKJ Appointments plugin keeps its booking wizard, emails, reminders, text messages and calendar files — and stops keeping a diary of its own. Every booking is written to your diary first.
Any website
The whole integration
<div id="pcd-booking"></div>
<script src="https://app.phonecalldesk.com/embed/booking.js" data-key="pcdpub_…" data-target="#pcd-booking" defer></script>
The key in the snippet is meant to be public. What protects your diary is the list of website addresses you name when the keys are issued: the form refuses to work on any other page.
What protects it
- Works only on the website addresses you named — compared whole, so a lookalike address fails
- Rate-limited per visitor and key
- Two traps a bot walks into: a hidden field that must stay empty, and a form that cannot honestly be finished in two seconds
- Every time is checked again at the moment of booking
- Revoke the keys in one click and every page carrying them stops at once
A stolen key can do only what the public form can do: read free times and take a booking. It cannot read your diary, your callers, or anything else.
WordPress
The plugin becomes a front end onto your diary
If your site already takes bookings with our TKJ Appointments plugin, version 1.2.1 or later connects it to Phone Call Desk. Its own opening hours, staff availability, approval step and checkout are not used while connected — the diary keeps none of those, and a booking it accepts is confirmed. Everything else the plugin does carries on.
Issue keys
On the Integrations page, name your website's address and issue the keys. Copy the server key — it is shown once.
Install and paste
Install the plugin, then paste the key under Appointments → Settings → Phone Call Desk. The key knows which Phone Call Desk it belongs to.
Test, then send
Select Test connection. Then Send upcoming bookings, if the site already has some, so nothing already promised is offered twice.
From then on
The wizard offers your diary's free times, each service at its own length, and cancelling or moving a booking is done in the diary first.
Keeps working on the site
- The booking wizard, with your services and their lengths
- Confirmation emails and reminders
- Text messages
- Calendar (.ics) files
- The customer's link to cancel or move a booking
- The appointments list in your dashboard
Not used while connected
- The plugin's own opening hours, minimum notice and booking horizon
- Staff availability
- The approval step
- WooCommerce checkout holds
Questions
Straight answers
Is this available in the United States now?
Not at the moment: we are not taking new customers in the United States right now. The feature is built and running in Britain, and it will be part of every plan when we reopen. Register your interest and we will write to you.
Do I need WordPress?
No. The two-line form works on any website — a page you edit yourself, a site builder, a static site. WordPress sites with our plugin get the plugin's fuller wizard as well.
Can a visitor and a caller be given the same time?
No. Both book into one diary, and every booking is checked again at the moment it is made, not when the times were shown. If a time has just gone, the form says so and shows what is left.
What if the form is on a page I did not list?
It says so, plainly — that it could not reach the diary, and that the site's owner should check the page's address is on the allowed list — rather than failing silently. Add the address on the Integrations page and it works at once.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Website booking is part of every plan that includes the assistant.
Can I switch it off?
Revoke the keys on the Integrations page. Every page and site carrying them stops booking at once; bookings already made stay in your diary.
